Well, if you don't have 7/21/91, you have got to have
this. What a killer, free show!  My former college
roommate to this day regrets having turned down an
opportunity to go to this show.. The Tweezer
complements this great show in a huge way. This has
got to be one of the better versions of 1991.  Even
though it is only 10.25 minutes, typical of '91
versions, and the beginning is very standard, there
is a really spooky beginning to the jam segment, and
the jam really takes off after some groovy playing by
Mike and Trey.  I think it is probably impossible NOT
to move to this version.  This jam (on the Trey side)
has many similarities to the 7/26/91 jam, but still
has just enough originality to be different. ;^)
Again, there is no final lyricless theme visit after
the dying out of the jam segment.. but what a great
version! Lots of grooving.. Have to give it a 6.0
rating.  Better than average, but certainly not
life-changing. (B)

(post scriptum.. I know saying that a jam was "great"
is not as good as saying that it was in such and such
a key and soared into such and such a range and that
it had such and such chord structures, time&key
changes, etc., but I am not confident enough in my
technical musicianship to make too many statements of
this sort, and, well, frankly, such dramatic changes
(Bomb Factory and Bangor  and other 30+ minute
"Tweezers" aside) are just very, very rare.. usually
Fish keeps the beat  (or he just dies it out in the
middle of the jam.. big deal) and Mike and Trey and
Page stay in the same key and general structure...
well, not as much '95, I suppose...)

two cents
