Subject: Letterman Rush Hour Gig  6/21/04

ok, to keep with the trend on these posts (for perspective): "This is my
first review, despite comsuming everyone else's reviews... my first show:
12/28/90, my last time seeing ph*sh play live: LETTERMAN MARQUEE 6/21/04"

LETTERMAN NYC MIDTOWN RUSH HOUR GIG:
if you followed ph*sh's instructions, you were outta luck as far as
getting behind "the police barricades," although once they started
playing, US took over the east side of 53rd + B'way...

SINGLE LIST:

Everything was very well played (save take 1 of scents), but there was NO
EXTENDED JAMZ, at all.  Strictly TV-friendly renditions.  Before they
began, we were talking  about how great it will be to see
the live debut of "The Connection"  Thankfully, no "connection" was had, rather 2 takes of
"Scents + Subtle,"  which I think is a pretty strong new song >> it was a very interesting experience seeing ph*sh
play some songs in the midst of NYC rush hour in midtown... (who's got my
metrocard?) I am thankful I had the sense to leave work a bit early and
walk up to the gig. You could see how much the phellas were enjoying
themselves in the midst of the chaos 

On a side note, I wish to convey what an EPIC time I had @ both BROOKLYN
showz... somehow, it made it ok that these were my last 2 ph*sh
experiences.  I think the venue is the best place I've ever seen the band,
and, for me, it's all about having REAL SPACE to break-it-on-down
(!?y'know?!).  I found that space on deep Mike side, in the stands, 5 rows
down from the top.  E/P/I/C Not to mention, whenever I can take the train
 to a show, it makes it that much more
enjoyable.

I walked out of THURS. thinking it was THE BEST SINGLE SHOW I have ever
seen, from top to bottom.  Granted, I was excited by the great atmosphere,
etc... and FRI... 

I also wish to THANK everyone who made the scene an enjoyable place to
revel, freak, breakdance, rave, phish*hop, experiment with psychoactives,
make out, hook up, eat, cook, drink, drive, walk, hike, camp, sleep,
hitch-hike, bug, smoke, pass out, talk, network, suck N20, miss work +
school, spend every dime to get to the next, collect, read, write, and,
most importantly LISTEN!!!

THANK YOU ALL FOR EVERYTHING, I'll see you at the next DJ SPOOKY gig...

Subject: Phish show review letterman marquee june 22nd 2004

hiya hiya kidz hiya hiya
Watching from home i can say this, it was a lot of hype for nothing. 
Don't get me wrong Scents is a good tune, i saw it last summer third
night deer creek but i don't understand playing it when its your only
tune....i was way tired and i stayed up for a homogenized version of
Scents.  The rest of the set was more retro but even a lil' Chalkdust
would have been nice to represent the boyz.
    On a lighter note, Mike's bass sounded unreal!  Really good through
the TV, and the song was excecuted flawlessly, minus minor vocal
clashings during the bridge.
I understand 2 takes were needed...i wonder if they flubbed the vocals
the 1st time worse?  Did Trey pick the tune aired or dave or who?  Well
i'm outa here to pack for Deer Creek WEd, Thurs...see you all
there..Alpine taboot taboot.......
