WOW--

I'm still in a daze from that show--

Some of the highlights:

Buried Alive opener--sweet tune
Suzie w/Spin docs lick--cracked me up
TWEEZER!! (need I say more)
Bathtub Gin--never heard it live before--phun stuff
FAHT--yes, Fishman on a taped up acoustic--he said it was the
first time he did it live (great audience sound effects
+ the b.g. from the album)

And after the show, Trey hung outside for a bit and talked to a
crowd of Phriends--some cool info:

The new newsletter has something in it about doing gamehendge on
Interactive CD--IT'S FOR REAL!! It's one of those things that
Trey is really psyched to do. The only problem is that old thing:
$$.

See ya all in Binghamton tonight!

Wow, what a show !!!!!

 the highlight for me??

     Eleanor Rigby

Yes, during YEM Trey played almost all of the song Eleanor Rigby.
In case anybody is unaware, this is a Beatles song off of Revolver.
Being a Beatlefan, this was a HUGE thrill for me !!!!!

The whole show was a blast, I thought the second set REALLY kicked ass
!!

A bunch of us talked to Trey after the show, and I told him that I
really6
liked hearing the Eleanor Rigby thrown into You Enjoy Myself.. he was
surprised that I, or anybody else, even notice it..I told him that I
was
singing along at the top of my lungs. :)

We all were talking about the bonus tracks on Junta and Trey said
the dates ARE wrong inside the liner notes. And he told us the story
about Union Fedral that Doug Coe told about on the previous digest.
He said that Sanity and Icculus are off of a normal bial, non metal
tape, and that the sound is pretty sweet nevertheless. I asked him
if Jimmy Buffett had anything to do with Sanity, he laughed and told
   me to ask Mike.

This talk with Trey lasted about 40 minutes and it taught me
something..
Phish REALLY does care about its (their) fans. I knew this already but
this reinforced my notions. A phriend of mine had a similar talk with
Page after the St. Mikes show.. These guys listen to the fans (phans),
Trey didn't have to come out and talk to us for however long after the
show, but he did. That really tells you something !!!

                   2 and 1/2 hours til Bingamton :)

--OK, thought I'd share my exprinces from my phirst two Phish showz ever!
I've been a fan for awhile, but I've alwayz lived in Seattle, so until I
came East to college...I've been deprived!!! Anywayz---
-CORNELL-
WOW. I was left in awe...First, however, let me publicly thank BRUCE
?PHAETON? from the net, for the wonderful tix he sold me. THANK YOU! I was
late pickin' them up, and I assumd that he would have sold them, but he
took the time to find me outside the theater. Just another example of
net-brotherhood. 8)
Anyway, this show blew me away! I couldn't stop thinking about all the
highlights! Thereare so many!!! The intensity, the amazing setlist, the
new stuff(which will eventually become classics), the two accapello
songz(you could hear a pin drop!) the big ball jam, etc, etc... Needless
to say, if I wasn't fully hooked before, I sure am now!!
--Now, I wasn't going to go to Binghamton, but a bunch of my friendz were,
and after the Cornell show, I decided that I HAD to find a way to go! So,
despite having a HUGE PHysics test @ 9:00 the next morn(I just flunked
it), I hopped on the caravan!! I was the only one amongst us w/o a ticket,
so I walked over to the theatre a little early...At about 7:00, I was
around back, trying to find the front of the theatre, when guess who runs
out of this door, into one of the Road Pirates busses...TREY!! He pulls
Fishman out of it, and starts walking him to the door...These two teenage
girls see this too, and run up to him, begging to be put on the "guest
list". I had no clue what this meant, and was about to tell the girls to
leave him alone. Then Trey called me over, and asked me if I needed a
ticket, as well. I was shocked!! I nodded, and walked over. He pulled out
a mini-computer(one of those hand-held thingies) and wrote the girls names
in it, and said he'd do the best he could to get them on the list, despite
the fact that it was less than an hour till showtime. They ran off
giggling, and I stayed around and talked to them for 5 minutes about the
Cornell show. This is only another proof that PHISH CARES FOR THEIR
PHANS!!! Anyway, I checked the ticket window @ 15 minutes before the show,
and sure enough, Trey had left me a backstage pass! My friendz phreaked! I
did too! Though for security reasons, we were only allowed backstage for
20 minutes during intermission, it was definately an evening I will NEVER
forget! And luckily...my friend taped it! 8)

Ithaca:
This was an interesting day. It was raining a little when we left
Long Island and proceeded to worse as we got closer to Ithaca. It
got bad when it got dark, was raining and the fog started up. We
finally got to the Nines around the time when most people were gone
or just leaving. But, We did show up in time for Catphish to fill us on
on the total destruction of the Atlanta Falcons at the hand of the
mighty Buffalo Bills! :-)

I downed a Yuengling and it was off to Bailey Hall. It's still raining
and I was really starting to feel the fatigue of the long weekend.
My eyes were burning and my calves were throbbing. Am I getting to
old?

A fine start indeed: Buried Alive, Oh Kee Pa>Suzy. Yeaaaa, now I'm not
as tired. :-) Then it was on to Fee with Trey pulling out the
megaphone. One complaint: he should have used the megaphone with the
microphone like in the 1st verse. The other verses were kinda hard
to hear.
It was great to hear B.Gin and what better way to end the 1st set than
Antelope!

Second set was great. How couldn't it be with Tweezer, Tela!!, YEM,
FAHT!, and Golgi. Then the encore with Axis: Bold as Love.

Summary: A most awesome weekend except for way too much driving.
Maybe they can start doing 2 nights per city. It was nice to see the
band improve so much. During many songs they would go off into a
different direction and then slowly come back to a powerful ending.

One other bad point of the weekend was that many of the people at these
shows seem to think they're at Dead shows. i.e., hanging around outside
for hours before the show, ticketless people, the twirlers, and the
stench! At Albany, when I went to the bathroom during the first set,
I had to walk thru all the twirlers in the back hall before going down
the stairs to the bathroom and the smell was just plainly unbearable.
Is it really fashionable to look dirty and have the worst possible BO
at these concerts??

Anyway, I definitely looking forward to Toronto on 12/12 and NYE.
