Wow. Were any of you at this show?? You should post a review of what
(little) you remember. MikeS has the Dude of Life on vocals, and he clearly
creates a few verses. You'd think that I'd re-iterate them here, but I
won't.. they are amusing, but you should check them out for yourself. David
Grippo is on sax, taboot, for some songs at this show, and for the MikeS. It
is a solid version of MikeS, but nothing to die for. H2 doesn't kick in until
6:40 or so, making this one of the longer versions of MikeS for this period.
Page comes out from behind the keys and plays a CASIO "SYNTHESIZER" for the
first "verse" of H2 with Trey.. it is highly amusing, and makes for an unduly
unusual H2. Cheese factor high. Weekapaug kicks in @ 9:34 or thereabouts.
Mike is snappy on this solo and it sounds F&CKING GREAT. I would swear there
were TWO bass players for this, but I'm just getting excited.. Great opening.
Trey is all over this Week, as usual, and at one point he almost teases
BONANZA again (but falls a note short). Everyone is really hot, but since Trey
is at the forefront (as he has been in all the versions I've reviewed to
date), he particularly comes through as being In the Groove. This is The
Final Front Weekapaug, and what a version it is. Mmmmm. This is a great
version, folks, but, in light of recent versions that I've been blessed enough
to have ear-caught, They Can Do Much, MUCH Better. 5.25 rating (I gotta give
it better than an average- run-of-the-mill-great 5.0, given the appearances of
DOL, Grippo, and, of course, The Casio) (C+).
